How does this work?
Very easily! Some meals are always on the menu. These are the Preassembled entrees. Other items change each month. These are our monthly menu. Decide what you want then place your order either online or over the phone. Show up on your selected day and time and pick up your order. You can also just drop in anytime during our business hours and shop from our ever-changing Grab & Go selection.
What if I’m not a very good cook?
No problem! All of our meals and sides come with easy-to-follow instructions. Just follow the instructions and you’ll have a delicious meal on the table in no time.
What do I need to bring with me when I pick up my order?
It’s helpful if you bring a large cooler or laundry basket to transport your meals home, but we have bags if you forget.
How many people will each entree feed?
Each whole or full size entrée typically feeds four to six adults, and each half size entree feeds two to three adults, depending on the appetite. Meals that contain individual meats like chicken breasts or pork chops have 6 pieces in a whole size and 3 pieces in a half size. We also offer some of our preassembled selections in single sizes.
What is the average cost of the meals?
Meals are all priced a la carte based on the ingredients in the meal.
Can you customize the meals for my family’s taste?
We are happy to customize our monthly menu selections to suit your taste. Don’t like mushrooms? We can leave them out. Allergic to onions? No problem! On a low salt diet? We can leave it out. Garlic lover? We can add some extra. Not too spicy? We’ll adjust it. Just put your request in the notes section when ordering.
Our preassembled entrees are a little harder for us to customize since we make those in large batches but you can always ask us and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. The more notice you can give us in this category the more likely we can do it.
Will my order be fresh or frozen when I pick it up?
Items from our monthly menu, Chicken Salad , and Chicken Pot Pies, will be fresh except for shrimp meals which will be frozen. All other categories will be frozen when you pick up.
What if someone in my family has food allergies or needs gluten-free?
Please let us know of any food allergies or GF needs when you place your order and we will take extra measures to avoid the allergens and cross-contamination. All of our food is prepared on shared equipment. We do our very best to limit contact, but we are not a nut-free or wheat-free facility and cannot guarantee non-contact with these items. We can also supply you with a list of each entrees ingredients for your review.
How far in advance do I need to place my order?
We ask that orders from our regular monthly menu be placed at least 2 days in advance to allow us time to place our food orders with vendors, trim meats and prepare your selections. Our online ordering will close at 2:00 p.m. two days prior. So, ordering for Wednesday closes at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Thursday closes at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, etc. We can occasionally accommodate last minute orders but those will need to be called in.
Can I reschedule or cancel my order if something comes up?
We know that things come up and life happens so if you cannot pick up your order on the specified day, please call us ASAP so we can reschedule your order to a different day. If you need to cancel your order we kindly ask for 3 days notice.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Amex, cash, debit cards, and personal checks. There is a $15 charge for returned checks. Payment may be made when you pick your order up in our store.
How often do the menus change?
Our 12 monthly menu selections change each month. The monthly entrees are made-to-order so they will be fresh when you pick up your order (with the exception of shrimp entrees). We also have items available all the time in our fully stocked Grab-N-Go freezers.
How do I place an order?
You can order three ways: use our online order process, call the store and we’ll take your order over the phone, or you can visit our store and we’d be happy to place your order while you’re there.
Can I just stop by and shop?
Absolutely! Stop by anytime during our business hours and shop from our fully stocked freezers and fresh selections.
Can I come in and assemble my meals?
No, we provide the assembly of all items at no additional charge to you.
How long do the meals last in the freezer?
We recommend that meals be eaten within 4 months of being frozen for the best results.
How should I thaw my meals before cooking?
Place the meal in the refrigerator the night before and thaw it in the refrigerator overnight. It should be ready to cook when you arrive home from work. Some larger cuts of meats like pork roasts may require 2 days to thaw.
Are there any items that can be cooked from frozen?
Most of our preassembled entrees can be cooked from frozen.
Do you have pickup locations anywhere besides your store?
We currently offer remote pickups at The Glass Jug in Durham and The Heritage Market in Wake Forest. We are always looking for other locations we can offer remote deliveries to so if you know of a business or neighborhood clubhouse that we could set up a monthly delivery location at please let us know. We only need a parking lot, not access to a building.
